The Lighthouse, Test Salon

Location: Düsseldorf, Germany.

This Test Salon replaces the original in the Düsseldorf Henkel Lighthouse.

Its purpose is to test hairdressing products using ‘real’ models in controlled conditions with technically accurate lighting, ideal ergonomics and air conditioning.

The circular layout reflects the plan layout of an adjoining exhibition space and optimises the ability to communicate as the work progresses. The work stations echo the circularity and were custom made to AOI’s design.

In a small anteroom colours are recorded and matched to test not only new products but also the ongoing performance and accuracy of existing brands.
